Animal welfare means how an animal is managing the conditions in which it
lives. An animal is in a positive state of welfare if it is healthy, comfortable, well-nourished, safe, able to express it's natural behavior, and if it is not suffering from irritating conditions such as fear, pain, and distress. There are also various means of measuring animal welfare, including (but not
limited to) health, productivity, behavior, and physiological responses.
To maintain a proper welfare for your pet, you must keep it up to date with veterinary visits and disease prevention shots, etc. Also, make sure to have a safe living environment and has good nutrition levels. Ensuring these rights to an animal is a human responsibility. Do your part, and keep them healthy.
